I’m feeling like the Universe is pointing me in a specific direction. While I was on vacation with my hubby last month, we started talking about happiness – what does it look like, how to be happier, etc. Within moments of having that conversation, I received an email from EdEx about an online course called the Science of Happiness – Positive Psychology. I signed up!

When I got home from vacation, I also pulled a couple of “happiness” books off my shelf, including The Happiness Project by Gretchen Rubin and signed myself up for one of her 21 Day projects: Know Myself Better. September 1 marks the Day 1 for me. To begin with I will create my 12 Personal Commandments that will help distill my core values. I have my coloured pens and a brand new journal to start my project in a tangible way! You can start your own 21-day project with a visit to gretchenrubin.com.

According to Rubin, “A ‘happiness project‘ is an approach to changing your life. First is the preparation stage, when you identify what brings you joy, satisfaction, and engagement, and also what brings you guilt, anger, boredom, and remorse. Second is the making of resolutions, when you identify the concrete actions that will boost your happiness. Then comes the interesting part: keeping your resolutions.”

Over the fall semester, I will dive into my pursuit of happiness and share any insights I gain on my blog page. No doubt some of my explorations and, hopefully, insights, will trickle into my classes at Inspired.
Until then …

May I be happy. May I be well. May I be safe. May I be peaceful and at ease.
May you be happy. May you be well. May you be safe. May you be peaceful and at ease.

Om Shanti,
