Yoga Retreat at Cross River Wilderness Centre

UNPLUG & CONNECT WITH NATURE & INVEST IN YOUR WELLNESS

Nourish your body, mind and heart! Spend three nights in a restored settler’s cabin in the middle of some of the most captivating scenery of the Rocky Mountains. Enjoy morning and evening yoga sessions, two afternoon hikes, plenty of good food and some great company!

This is your opportunity to fully unplug and be “off the grid” for a few days! Cross River Wilderness Centre is a remote retreat location powered mostly by solar panels! No cell phone reception means you can give yourself a technology break and bask in this beautiful and refreshing mountain location.

You are welcome to arrive at Cross River Wilderness Centre on Friday between 4:00 and 6:00 pm. Dinner is offered in the main house at 6:00 pm. You will hear the conch shell sound when our meals are ready! We will gather for our opening circle and a restorative yoga practice after dinner.

On Saturday, Sunday and Monday mornings, early risers are invited to join Nora at 7:00 am in the yurt for 30 minutes of guided meditation. Next will be a nourishing breakfast in the main house. You will have some time to digest before heading to the yurt for a morning asana practice to get your body moving for the day.

On Saturday and Sunday afternoons we will pack our lunches and head out to hike on well marked trails near the retreat centre. These trails are manageable for all levels of able-bodied hikers.

Evening yoga practices on Friday, Saturday and Sunday will have a restorative and therapeutic theme to help you unwind from your day and get a good night’s sleep in your semi-private cabin. Each of the cabins is lovingly decorated with a unique theme, such as bird houses, flowers or fishing!

Our retreat adventure will be complete after our Monday morning yoga practice and you will be on the road by 11:30 am.

Your weekend includes accommodation, 8 meals (3 breakfast, 2 lunch, 3 dinner), hiking, and yoga with Nora. Most of the food is locally sourced, with a variety of tasty dishes offered at each meal.

Special Diets:

Because of the remote location, bringing in specialty foods requires a day trip to Calgary, so there is a fee of $15 (+tax) per day for such meals. Please connect with Nora if you have specific food requirements. Please book and pay for them through the online store 2 weeks prior to the retreat.

Bookings:

Book your cabin with a friend and save $50! Only 14 spots available.

Summer Solstice Retreat

Cross River Wilderness Centre, BC – June 23-25, 2017.
We have an amazing time soaking up nature at Cross River. It felt great to be “off the grid” for this weekend retreat. On Saturday and Sunday mornings starting with meditation. Then after breakfast we practiced yoga together in the yurt! We got in a couple of interesting hikes with beautiful scenery. On Friday and Saturday evenings, we ended the day with restorative and therapeutic yoga sessions.
The best part was being in community with a great group of yogis! We had time to connect with each other and to connect with nature! Thanks for a great weekend everyone!

Nourished by Nature Yoga Retreat

Costa Rica – November 5-11, 2016.
We began each day of our retreat at El Sabanero Eco Lodge with an early morning hike through teak forests. We saw monkeys, vultures, cows and more. The flora and fauna were breathtaking.

After a nourishing breakfast, we shared a morning yoga practice with Peaches the Yoga Cat! In the afternoons we left the retreat centre for our adventures which included zip lining, a boat trip through an estuary as well as beach time.
Most evenings featured a gourmet meal by our chef. Afterwards we would have a relaxing yoga practice – either yoga therapy, restorative or yin – before falling into Version 2bed for the night.img_1887
What made this trip so special was the wonderful women who travelled to Costa Rica for this great adventure. After a week of being outdoors most of the time, I returned home truly feeling nourished by nature.
