New Classes in November!
Nora Maskey | SEP 4, 2023

I hope these first few days of September are going well for you. For many there is a shift into a busier and more structured schedule for the fall. This is true for me as well.
But first, I'm taking a vacation! I will be travelling for most of September, which is why my fall teaching schedule begins in October.
I'm looking forward to teaching regularly at Wildflower Yoga Collective and I've included information about my offerings below.
If you know of anyone who is living with Long Covid and might benefit from my registered series, Building Resilience while Living with Long Covid, please share this blog post with them. Thank you!
If you have any questions about the classes and whether they are right for you, please reach out to me at nora@noramaskeyyoga.com. I would love to hear from you!
Align & Shine Early Morning Yoga - In person or Zoom drop-in
Tues/Thurs 6:15 - 7:00 am
Start your day with 30 minutes of gentle movement and yoga asana followed by 15 minutes of guided breath awareness and meditation. This class will align your body, mind and heart so you can step into your day feeling energized and calm.
Who these classes are for:
Ideal for those of us who are early birds. These drop-in classes start with 30 minutes of flowing yoga and movement designed to wake you up without making you sweaty or tired. The last 15 minutes focuses on breath and meditation so your mind is calm and focused.
Why I offer this class:
Getting on my mat at the beginning of the day means I feel more focused and capable of engaging with whatever the day brings. I thrive with structure and consistency that an early morning practice provides.
Functional Movement - In Person drop-in
Thursdays 4:00-5:00 pm
Move better. Feel better. Play more! Yoga and biomechanics come together in this class that supports better mobility and improved strength through functional exercises that enhance yoga poses and that you can incorporate into your own yoga and movement practices.
A typical class includes a selection of Functional Movement exercises as well as familiar and accessible yoga poses.
Who these classes are for:
These classes support for those recovering from injuries as well as people who want to enhance and adapt yoga poses to meet their needs and to understand how to move better on and off the yoga mat. No previous yoga experience required.
Why I offer this class:
I am a self-professed biomechanics and functional movement nerd. I've completed at 300-hour advanced yoga biomechanics teacher training with Jules Mitchell and I'm also a Certified Personal Trainer – Restorative Exercise Specialist through Nutritious Movement™ with Katy Bowman.
Building Resilience while Living with Long Covid - Registered Series
Thursdays 2:00-3:30 pm - 8 registered classes
If you live with Long Covid and are looking for solutions to better manage your symptoms, this class series is for you. Designed and taught by someone who lives with Long Covid, we will explore supportive techniques and strategies to better manage symptoms and build resilience with a community that understands the frustration and challenges of life with Long Covid.
Open to anyone with Long Covid or a similar condition such as Myalgic Encephalomyelitis / Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME / CFS).
Note: You will need to walk from the parking lot into the class unaided. There is a short flight of stairs in the lobby of the building.
Each class will include:
Why I offer this class:
I was diagnosed with Long Covid in 2021 and while I've come a long way, I still need to adjust my expectations and activity levels on a daily basis. I've participated in a research study, done my own research, and learned a lot along the way. I'm offering this series as a way to support others like me.
