Critical Alignment Therapy (CAT) is a highly effective yoga-based method known to reduce back, shoulder and hip pain and stiffness whether caused by injury, postural issues or habitual movement patterns. CAT uses an integrated mind-body approach that explores linked movement chains in the body through specialized exercises designed to release tension and strain and improve functional movement. Using specialized props, conscious breathing, and slow-moving exercises, CAT can help you move better and feel better.
This moderately paced one hour class encourages curiosity, playfulness, and awareness while incorporating an intentional alignment focus that is woven into a Hatha flow sequence. Explore ways to refine your poses along with your transitions between poses in ways that work with you and for you.
Classes are offered in person at Wildflower Yoga Collective and online through Zoom.
In this slowed down class, we have brought focus to alignment. Nora will offer the building blocks with modifications/alternatives for yoga poses and sun salutations. You will get all the benefits of a flow class, but at a pace that will deepen your knowledge of the foundations of the postures.
You will be guided through a variety of traditional and non-traditional yoga movements to develop functional ranges of motion and a deeper sense of body awareness. Detailed cueing, creative sequencing and props will help you discover new possibilities of movement.
All levels welcome. This is a great class if you are nervous to jump into a Vinyasa Class or are dealing with any physical injury that would prevent you from feeling confident in downward facing dog, or sun salutations.
Wake up your body with Pilates. We will start gentle and build up to a sweat to ease you into movement and prepare you for your day. All levels welcome. This class will offer modifications to allow you to take it at your own pace.
Utilizing breath with controlled, isolated movement and mental focus, this class will allow you to connect with muscles you never knew you had. An alignment-based class, designed to challenge you to rediscover your posture, and find balance and stability, as you strengthen your body in new ways. With a focus on set up & form you will gain a new connection with your body.
This class will focus on functional movement and prepare you with a strong foundation and increased body awareness. Expect to be challenged by the basics. Simple but strong! This class is open to all levels.
*We recommend taking 6 Reformer Align classes before progressing.
This class will elevate your expectations of strength and endurance while challenging your muscles and your mind. A total body workout, creatively utilizing the Reformer with a variety of props including, hand weights, fitness circle, resistance bands and cardio tramp to challenge you in unique ways each class. Expect to sweat and challenge what you thought was possible. Because you CAN do hard things!
*This class is recommended for those who have completed a minimum of 6 Reformer Align classes.
Designed for all levels, you'll learn the basic shapes and skills of a Pilates practice through accessible and beginner-friendly movements. These classes will start slowly to cover the fundamentals, then progress to a full body workout to help build your strength and confidence.
A combination of Pilates, Yoga and Recovery time. The first 20 minutes will be pilates based, helping us to connect to our core and then transition to a slow flow style yoga for 20 minutes and then finishing with 20 minutes of a Restorative / Meditative poses.
